In my previous company we had a Contact 3S and a Contact 3AV
placing 0402 components. The main issues we had with these machines
was on the smart feeders, the metal contact tags on the feeders
which the machine probes onto kept breaking. Contact did "redesign"
this but then we found the probing so unreliable that after the
machine was set and the first off confirmed we would turn off the
     smart feeder function.
Other issues were that the 0402 nozzles were pretty useless, the
metal insert in the nozzle would move in the nozzles making picking
very unreliable so we ended up modifying standard 1206 nozzles, but
this meant our programs had to be optimised by the engineer as the
optimisation software did not consider component heights.
Spares were always difficult to get from the UK distributor, they
always claimed the delay was caused by Contact but you can never
get a straight answer. The machines were good value for money but
the main thing you need to get tied down is the support commitment
     from Contact.

     Good Luck.

We are currently deciding between two P&P machines - Contact Systems
Model 3AV and Multitroniks Model DHM120. Does anyone have any
experience, advice, or recommendations on either of these machines or
     these companies in general.

     Thanks,

     Dan
