Bryan,

I know it's a bit late because you have boards built, but there may be a way
to get the cleanliness that you are looking for by modifiying your PLCC's
(LCC's). When we've had to use these parts, we've sent them to North Penn
Technical, where they were able to attach "J" leads to the package. This
attachment raises the parts off the boards so that cleaning was easier. We
had the "J" leads attached for a different reason, due to coefficient of
expansion die to thermal cycling but our board cleaning became  easier as a
result.
