I believe the proper answer to electrical clearance has something to do
with noise margins. The electrical performance parameters are established
and a distance value is determined based on this noise margin.
At least this is something I retained from one of the high speed classes
I took.
I'm not a designer by no means......so don't ask me for the equations.
I'm sure one of those high speed designers may shed some more light.
