Thomas got it 'spot-on'.
In English, we would normally just use a phrase like 'in the gaseous state' or 'in a solid
state', USW. (& that's coming from a Scotsman!)

From my physics class (what I remember, which is very little!), I don't
think there is anything more descriptive than "state of matter" or simply
"state". Others may have something more for you.
