From what I see here. I would guess you use a Weller system. We took a look
at the cost and hassles with solder irons. Then decided to try Metcal. Our
tips are replaced for free after a year of use. Whether this is just our
vendor or the standard I do not know. We calibrated and certified the
solder irons every week. This was four years ago. Since that time I think
we do it once a quarter just because it makes everyone feel good. But
during the 4 years doing it. With at least 200 of these irons. We do not
have any technician repairing the irons. We also do not have any broke. We
do not have any spares. Should have bought stock in this company. Just
another voice in the wind.
