Hi Techies,

Here is a question for some of you guys with component backgrounds.
What organization comes up with the call outs for electronic
components? Like INXXXX, for leaded diodes, 2NXXXX FOR transistors,
DL-XX MELF for SMT diodes, etc. And where would one find a listing of
correct call out for various components? When I was at Honeywell, we
had at component group that made sure this was all done correctly, now I
see prints with call outs for both leaded and SMT on the same print. I
know they are wrong but cannot give a reference to correct procedure.

This is abit of the beaten path for most of us, but I am sure someone
has that that bit of knowledge tucked away somewhere in this group.

Thanks,
Jerry Hoppke
