The regulations will apply to products supplied in Europe where ever made,
whether locally, Far East or USA. Some commentators here (Europe) have
suggested that a European ban would effectively amount to a World ban. These
commentators were writing in the financial columns of National newspapers not
the technical journals, ie this issue is regarded as significant bottom line
stuff impacting shareholders in major corporations. This maybe an
overstatement, but the size of the European market with respect to the rest of
the World, means that the new regulations will certainly have a significant
impact on all companies where ever they are. If you doubt this then be aware
that the European Union trading area is now comparable to or more valuable
than the US in many respects.
