Hi,
I did not start the question, but have thoroughly
enjoyed the responses, as your opinions and other
information regarding PCB CAD software is all
extremely interesting.
I have a "branch" question, though. Which is the
preferred software to use for RF layout design
(SMT)?
This is a great forum, folks! So much for so
little. BTW, I use PADS/Perform (not the newer
PowerPCB, yet), and think very highly of it. I can
only compare it with the much larger (and older) GDS
II system, which is not really a comparison. Once I
became familiar with the PC environment with PADS, I
found it very obliging in design work. It is still
doing a great job, even when the limitations of the
system have been taxed beyond belief! I can only
wish for a software package to do as great a job
with RF as PADS does in all other design.
Looking forward to your input,
Donna
