Hello Netters,

I just got through digging in the TechNet archives, now I need some more
info.

I have a PCB, (thru hole) that has a white appearance on the solder side,
and white spots on component side. My findings in the archive suggest that
it may be uncured solder mask.

I have tried the suggestion of using hot air/ soldering gun and heating the
solder mask to see if white disappears, which it does.
I do not have any metheleyne chloride, so the other test I can not perform,
is there another? I have tried hand washing PCB in IPA to see if white
appearance may be surface residues, has no effect.

I would like to know if there is anyone who has a similar problem? My
interpretation of the archives were that it was random white areas, mine
appears over entire PCB.

Process Parameters:

1. Wave solder with Kester OA 2331-ZX flux

2. Wave temp 205-215 until 490F wave

3. Conveyor speed 4.5ft/min

4. Wash cycle 8min at 145-160F DI water no chemical]

5. 3 rinse cycle at 1min each at 145F

Thanks in advance

Tom B
