Technetters,

I have been working with D356 and 356A netlists for a while now and I have
run accross a problem with net lists having extra vias in them. These are
via call outs that do not exist in the board.

The source of the net list is a PADS system and the out put is being
translated by a third party software. In a recent example there were over
10,000 extra vias making the net list useless. These vias corresponded to
surface mount pads on the top side of the board and had no "A00" characters
indicating them as through holes.

Does anyone know if there is a configuration within PADS that generates a
test point or via point directly opposite any flashed surface mount pad, or
in conjuction with that surface mount? Or has anyone seen this issue?

Thanks for the help.
