Mr. Radhakrishnan,

One of the problems with RO is that they leak between 0.7% and 4% of the ions
through the membrane.  If you are concentrating to 2000 ppm, then between 14
and 80 ppm will be in the output (depending on membrane type and age.  As
age increases up so does the leakage).  Copper is divalent and should be
rejected almost completely.  You may have a very small leak some place.

To fix:
1.  Polish RO permeate with mixed bed DI column or
2.  Polish with cation/anion separate columns or
3.  Run Ultrafilter before RO to remove divalent cations and anions, about all
that is left would be Sodium and Chloride or
4.  IF the stream is only copper, nickel, lead bearing rinses, use chelated resin
to remove copper before the RO.
