We have worked with and or installed over 45 pumice machines throughout
the world with the majority of those being I.S. units . To add further
credence to the argument the units are well constructed. The rinse is
marginal at best and at the least a low pressure alarm is needed to
prevent the carry over of pumice into subsequent processes. The addition
of an auxiliary rinse is an excellent suggestion and the High pressure
system from IS is quite frankly not as robust as the rest of the unit.
There are some major wear items if proper shutdown and
maintenance procedures are not followed, regular cleaning and
lubrication of the drive chain and bearings is a must . Also the wash
down of the bearings internally is extremely important . Lastly You will
be far ahead of the game to set up and follow religiously a P.M.
schedule

Priority: High

In my 24 years I have worked with four IS pumice machines.
They are durable as claimed. I recommend them as best in class.

I would caution the buyer to not rely on their rinsing. The high
pressure
rinse system uses a noisy pump with seals that can blow out and soak
the entire machine with oil. Don't buy that option. The remaining
rinse
systems are minimally effective. I recommend you install a triple sump,
rinse and dry system after, maybe something from ASI or Chemcut or
equivalent.
