leave you room to redrill the locating hole in the proper location? What
do you mean you already cut off that useless locating tab?

Hi Mike!

First, I just wanna' say how much I appreciate all the kind comments everybody
has posted...shucks...twern't, nothin' (face turning red). But Mike's right,
you do what you gotta do sometimes in the small shops 'cause you don't have
much of choice, but that's what makes it interesting. On the same hand, I
can't tell you how many times I've been so frustrated that I've felt like
chucking it all and go flip burgers at McDonalds somewhere just to get away
from it all. But luckily, the interesting times have outweighed the
frustrations (..so far, anyways...hehehe)

And I can't tell you how much I've learned from everybody in this group, the
only reason I think I can do what I do is because I bounce things off of you
guys, and try to do it in a way that might make ya' chuckle a bit. You all
have set me straight a bunch of times and for that, I want to say thanks.

But back to how I'm gonna' go about putting this beast back on, the idea was
given to me by one of you guys, (See what I mean? This list is GREAT!) It was
from a gentleman named Roger Miller with Lockheed Martin out in New Jersey.
What I'm gonna do is drill a hole in the socket body with a .050" shift in the
Y-axis from the current locating pins position (that's the pin pitch with this
socket, and it was soldered one row off), put a new pin in the hole and then
cut the old pin off...Roger made it so simple for me, I don't know if I would
have thought of it or not, thanks a bunch Roger!

One last thing, Paul Klasek said something in his post yesterday that I just
wanna bounce off you guys, 'member when he said something to Jack Crawford
about that legends of the TechNet thing at the printed circuits expo? Well,
Jack has asked me if I wanted to participate. I've been thinking about it...I
mean this is something that's supposed to fun and interesting, right? If I
tell Jack I'll do it, I'm not gonna get ripped to shreds am I? I'll tell ya'
all right up front I'm no genius, and I don't have a B.A., PHD, IOU, or any
of that stuff, I just do things the best way I know how with what I got, and
that's it. But to me, it does sound kinda' fun as long as people take me for
what I am...and I'm just a regular ol' manufacturing guy like ya'll.

Thanks!!
