Happy New Year to all
Once again I have had a customer say " Oh this board is to be built
to IPC specifications (6012 - Class 3) so we don't need to do any
"group A" type testing"
My question is to the group - WHERE DOES THIS IDEA COME
FROM?????
We are trying very hard to have IPC documents accepted by everyone
including military - and this mentality is not helping. I would really
like to understand where the idea inititiates that IPC board specs do
not require any testing.
The way I interpret 6012 - when a board manufacturer certifies that his
boards meet the requirements - that means all Conformance testing
has been performed and that the manufacturer has monthly tests
performed. If not - then why even have the documents.
