We have got a problem with a 56 way IC socket ,when we assemble the
pbc with the socket in place we are getting solder bridging up the IC
socket legs we use dia 1.00mm holes for mounting this socket i would
think by reducing the mounting hole dia to 0.6mm this would solve the
problem has any one solved this problem in some other way
We where going to try to use an alternative IC socket of the turn pin
type but have no information on the reliability of this type of
socket.
Does any one know of alternative solutions to this problem or where I
can get some more information on this turn pin type of socket and its
reliability.

kind regards
Jim Hedderick
