Hi Earl!

Sorry for the delay...

Uhhhhhh.

This is an early AD project. The FEM mechanical people are still trying
to determine how much stiffness they need. The issue is that there is a
lot of plug-in connectors with high pin count ASICs nearby. We need
stiffness to stabilize the BGA joints. Also, the module is oriented
vertically and the weight of the all the components is significant. Then
we need to figure out how much of a "stiffener" we need. That's when we
can compare the options, such as incorporating the stiffener as part of
the multilayer PWB.

I have gotten some really good ideas from you, Les Connally, Keith
Larsen and others. If we proceed in this direction, I'll be back.....

Have a good holiday!

Gerry

Gerry,

So, are you going to keep us in the dark concerning such an exciting
subject/project. Heck, I'm
starting to remember some really good stuff and it would be a shame to
waste it in a nanosecond as
my brain siezes.

Enjoy,

Earl Moon
