Hi,

We're currently looking at implementing our own internal part numbering
system after several years of using our customers individual systems (we're
a contract manufacturer).

I'm looking for any ideas, suggestions or sources of information on part
numbering systems in general as well as any implemented particularly in our
industry that might help in cross referencing customer part numbers to the
internal numbers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
