I know of few who have failed. I have helped some become recognized because they didn't have a clue
how to even start the process.

I know of some that should have failed because of the way UL wrote the rules (at least the rules of
about 3 years ago). I did ask UL if it was "illegal" to buy pre-fabbed multilayer specimens from
laminate suppliers. They said it was, but expressed no concern that the practice was being done.
Also, they didn't care that some of us followed the letter of the "law" and made serious efforts to
fab from "scratch."
