1) We do single boards and multi-up. All are panelized the same size.
2) We use a Router to separate. We are starting to do breakaway on some products. Doing a manual break for now.
3) We are using pre-route w/breakaway tabs, and also V score.
4) We are an OEM building computers in the US.

Subject: [TN] PCBA Routing Survey
Greetings Technetters -
One area of curiousity for me (among others) has been who routes finished
circuit board assemblies and who doesn't. I've decided to conduct an informal
survey via Technet.
I would like to know from whomever cares to participate:
1. Do you do multi-up boards or not?
2. If YES, how do you separate them after assembly:
Manual - breaking them
Rolling blade machine (i.e. "pizza cutter")
Stamp/Punch machine
Depanel Routing Machine
3. If you are manually breaking them, how are they prepared prior to assembly?
Scribed via pre-router - full or tab
Cookie-cutter punch
4. Indicate the nature of your product: Automotive, consumer, medical,
instrumentation, avionics, PCMCIA, computer, communication, etc..... Also
where your site(s) are located (Asia, NA, SA, Europe)
You can respond via Technet or you can keep your responses anonymous, if you
wish, by responding to my e-mail address at [log in to unmask] This is for
my information only - it will not be passed on to any salesmen. I will be
glad to share the results with anyone participating in the survey.
Thank you!
