    Are we talking SOTs here? Wave solder or Reflow?  Some PWB designers use the same pad size for SOTs no
matter which side of  the board they reside on. My experience with wave soldering SOTs so designed is that
you will get random skips.  The height of the SOT's body, the height at where the leg comes out of the
body, and the short length of the leg and a standard reflow pad all contribute to skips.  We have found
that an extra 0.020" to 0.025" on the length of the wave soldered SOT pad will eliminate solder skips.
