If the solder pallets are titanium then you should wash them in a detergent
(to remove any oils) then bake them in the oven to reoxidize the titanium.
(this will prevent solder from sticking to the freshly machined titanium).

Nice thing about molten solder is that it doesn't get contaminated easily
(except by metals).  Nearly all contaminates float to the top.  Even tools
you drop in it. (not recommended)
You will want to clean off any oils which will contaminate the product or
the flux.  Oils will also burn on to the pallets making them look awful
(forever).

So no metal chips and no machining oils.
