I can't address the specifics of white tin other than to say that the white tin and immersion tin processes
are not the same.  Immersion tin is an plating process where tin replaces copper in a self limiting process
while white tin (I believe) has some proprietary characteristics.  I'm sure that others on Technet have
direct experience with the white tin process.
