Sir / Madam,

I read that when creating a DFM, a manufacturer and its customer
must work hand in hand. For example if I am the designer, I must see
to it that my design suits my fabricator specs. Pls. correct me if I
am wrong. I want to know if I can use the IPC standards as a
default reference in building a DFM procedure. Were an assembly
company and my problem is that most of our manufacturers do boards
for mass production. Were starting to establish our design layout
capabilities and the problem is that I found only few prototype
fabricators (actually I trimmed it to 1) . And since I only did few
designs (about 2), they haven't given me the necessary information I
need with PCB manufacturing specs. Can I use the IPC standards for
those things which they havent given me ?
Also, if there Asian (preferably) or other PCB prototype
manufacturers who are willing to help me as well as be one of our
prospective PCB vendors, mail me (my address is listed down below)...
Thanks and more power to Designer Council !!!
