I don't see what the advantages of aluminum tape would be over Kapton tape for
attaching TCs.  Neither provides firm (non-lifting) attachment as evidenced by
the noice one sees when the profile is plotted out.  You really do not know
what you are "probing" but it likely is not a good representation of the
solder joint.
High temp solder is best,  conductive epoxy a good substitute.  If you
absolutely cannot sacrifice a board to the "profile gods", I suggest the use
of the TempProbes from Saunders.  Not as good as the solder or epoxy, but a
close second and far better than using tape.
