Dear Warren Smith,
The question you are facing at is asking about the "High-Gamma"
characteristic films and/or the two major development systems. This
materials and/or systems are used for photo imaging process with
photosensitive materials and exposure, or for CAD system that will
provide suitable work film for photo process.
"risu" stands for "lithography" and/or "The development system with
hydro-quinon", on the other hand, "rasu" stands for "Rapid process" or
the development liquid system that use Methol or Phenidon in stead of
hydro-quinon, intended to easy maintenance and shorter process time.
Another name of "rasu development system" is "MQ (or PQ) development"
here in Japan, although I am not sure of the name when it is used in
your country.
I am not sure on my spelling for the chemicals but I believe you have
enough experience to "decode" them.
I would like to express my respect for your guess in the viewpoint of
Japanese pronunciations judging by my personal history, a Japanese
Engineer who majored in both Photograpy and Printing and have been
worked for Flexible Printed Circuits industry.
In addition, I hope your suggestion will be appreciated for my English
translation to introduce some Japanese articles to western world
someday.
I may take it up to TechNet when I stick in the mud in my work as you
are!
Regards,
Toru Koizumi(Mr.)
