Good morning Connie,
I said this before to customers before and I think you'll enjoy
hearing this... Your customer doesn't know snot !
There is absolutely nothing that a carbon film resistor core could be
exposed to that could harm it. Especially a pin hole.
Have a Great Day !

Subject: [TN] Carbon film resistors
Good Morning All,
We have a carbon film resistor with a pin hole in
the insulating
material. We have looked under a microscope and visibly
cannot see anything
that resembles the metallic element. Our customer says if
there is a hole
in the coating, the element is exposed. We have sent
samples out to be
analyzed, but, as of yet, have not heard anything. We see
these pin holes
occasionally (usually only one on a resistor). This has
never come up as as
issue before. Can anyone shed some light on this subject?
Has this ever
been a problem for anyone else?
Thanks in advance for any input on this.
Connie Korth, K-Byte, Hibbing Manufacturing
