Chris
If they consistently move that much, tell your supplier to oil the chain
on their oven.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

We have a board that was designed and built in germany that we've
imported
and are having assembled by an outside house here in the U.S. I kind of
came in on the middle of it all, but I guess the supplier quoted to
IPC-A-610B, class 2 and we said ok. It's a real tight design and the
land
geometries aren't per IPC and they're understandably having a hell of a
time making any money on it. So they want more. And I'm trying to get a
grip on just what it means to quote a board to this spec. I don't have
any
experience with this kind of thing. Everything I've designed for the
last
15 years has been built in house and we worked out our specs as we went
along. Just so you know.

I guess the placement accuracy of the shooter isn't the only issue if
you
don't glue, right? Not that the parts drift much usually, but they can
move
during reflow. I understand that they don't WANT to move, but I'm trying
to
keep an open mind....

If anyone would be willing to share their typical drawing notes;
assembly
and tooling, I'd sure love to see 'em.

Thanks again,
-Chris-
