Is there other methods to waste treat Tin stripper other than
precipitation. We find that nearly 70 % of sludge volume in our waste
treatment facility to be coming from Tin stripper. We use nitric acid based
stripper. This is so because the used stripper contains more than 300 grams
of metal as tin, iron and copper. we sell our etchants ( acid, alkaline
and microetch solutions), hence no sludge from these sources.

Also since used Tin stripper contains more than 150 grams of Tin, it should
be economical to recover metal from it just like systems available for
recycling acid etching solution from FSL and alkaline etching solution from
Elochem, germany or Mecer, sweden.

Any feedback on reducing the sludge volume or recovering the metal will be
greatly appreciated.

Regards

N Radhakrishna
