A little while ago we investigated the possibility of eliminating screening cans
by painting the inside of the plastic housings which enclosed the whole assembly
with Electrodag nickel screening paint.

We found that screening was effective to a degree, although not good enough for
our requirements. Also our production people were rather hostile towards the
idea citing previous instances of increased scrap, extra operations etc. We also
noted the possibility of particles of the shielding coming off (there were
moving parts in our product) and causing shorts.

In terms of cost it would have worked out more expensive.
