Hi Ed,

     It's been a few months ago, I don't know if you remember the thread going
around that Panasonic held some patents registered back in 1982 about the
method of attaching SMT components to the bottomside of a PCB with epoxy and
then wave soldering. But I heard from some people that know about being
collecting from patent violations, that unless the owner of the patent
aggressively enforces his patent rights from day one, actively pursuing anyone
who infringes on that patent, they really don't stand a chance to collect on
it years down the road. Judges tend to look at it as frivolous prosecution.

     Concerning that footprint for melfs anyway, I've always had more problems
with the part being skewed after reflow with that footprint, than I do with
regular ol' square pads...am I the only one who's experienced this?
