Oops...   just the opposite, JoAnn.....   you need a certain amount of
copper to let all that current flow through, but you need to maintain a
certain amount of air to keep the voltage from jumping across to something
else.

For Internal conductors you need        0.0001  mils per volt
For external coated conductors          0.00012 mils per volt
For conductor to uncoated lead          0.00012 mils per volt

        Hi Ken -

        You are trying to compare apples and oranges.  Voltage determines
the track
        widths needed, current determines the spacing between traces, pins,
etc.  At
        least I'm fairly certain about this answer.  I'm sure there will be
better answers
        forthcoming.  :-)
