Designers,
I need a little help on determining basic
reliability/quality/corrosion/# of reliable insertions issues between
Pin/Socket connectors and Gold Contact Fingers/Edge Conn. Naturally the
gold fingers will be far less expensive, but are finger that far
inferior to pin & socket for reliably connecting power to a system.
This case the question is related to the actual power supply connection
from power supply to backplane, either fingers going into press fit edge
connectors, pin & socket mating connectors or forget going directly to
the backplane and go cable.
Is there any place for real data for corrosion/ reliability numbers.
thanks
Robert M. Wolfe
