I am of those who think that informal communication, the little notes we
pass back and forth, shmoozing, as it were, are of great value for building
a community. I was reminded of this today when one of us managed to wedge
her foot firmly in her mouth; well, not so firmly, since she immediately
noticed and acknowledged her error! Would that it was always so easy!

However, it would be a courtesy to the list to delete anything unessential
from the original messages when replying with quotation. It only takes a
moment.

I do archive this list, as I do all lists in which I participate, the wheat
and the chaff, and multiple repetitions of the DesignerCouncil mailing list
boilerplate at the end of each post is something like the very definition
of chaff.

I thank you and my hard drive and phone line thank you and I am sure many
others will as well.
