I need some advice..........!

We currently spec BS9760, BS 9761 & BS 9762 standards on our fab drawings.
The majority of suppliers list this series as an approval.

One of our suppliers recently informed us that these std's are in
obsolescence and that we should now specify the BS EN 123000 series which I
believe is the same thing as CECC 23000. The British Standards Institute has
confirmed that BS976X are obsolete but, (and this is the porblem) has not
been supersceded as yet.

My questions are these:-

1. What are the differences between the two series of standards?

2. Is it safe to ditch BS9760 for CECC23000?

If any QA type people are out there could you pass on some of your wisdom
and save me having to read the entire series!

TIA

Adam Hawes
