Jack,

If you lost your mind mine went with it.
We do all footprints from left (pin 1) to right (pin X).
Sure am glad I'm not the only one who thought backwards (or is it
frontwards).
If you want to standardize would it not be easier to build on an
existing standard (ICs, etc.) than to start from scratch.
