Hello Clive,

I've never personally used an S-glass board but I have come across
a some info on it in years past.
It is described as a fibreglass reinforcement that is attractive in
aerospace applications because it is lightweight yet a superior weave.
It is said to have a good balance between tensile, flexural and
compressive strengths.
You may find more at fibreglast.com or perhaps another material vendor's
web site.
