JoAnn,
I have used OrCAD, Cadstar & Visula for making schematics and Pcb designs. You can do the following for your schematics, it might help.

1.Make a root sheet/main sheet
2.Make as many square blocks as the no of actual schematics on the root sheet
3.Refer every sq. block with the name of an actual sheet.
4.On the left edge of a sq block write all the input signals to the sheet one below the other and likewise make the output signals on the right edge.
5. This way if you wish to refer to all the places a particular signal goes you just have to refer a single sheet i.e. the root sheet and then go to the actual sheets for details.

JoAnn,
KISS may not work for you on this one. For that matter KISMIF(keep it
simple make it fun) may not also.

First I am not familiar with your cad system to offer more than just a
thought process.

The cad system I have used for the past 15 years is dumb in this area. So
we had to make some decisions regarding what information needs to be
represented on the schematic. This is our approach :

  1. All inputs to the schematic sheet are located on the left edge and
represented by an arrow pointing in
  2. All outputs are located on the right edge and represented by an arrow
pointing out
  3. The source of the signal leaving the page will identify all pages of
destination
  4. The signals entering the page shall have the origin page represented
  5. All signals leaving or arriving on the sheet shall have their net name
visible
  6. Zone id's are optional and at the mercy of the engineer.

Our corporate sheet standard does not allow for zone ID. SO #6 usually is
not a main item.

Our main schematic sheet size is a small "E". The schematic plot is greatly appreciated.
