Mr. Halappa,

A diazo film that is changing size in only one dimension is PROBABLY not an
issue of temperature or humidity. Polyester base films will change size
proportionally in both directions when exposed to an environmental change.

More likely you have a problem with improper vacuum drawdown causing a
distortion during exposure or unusual stress on the film during processing.
To sort this out I suggest you expose a piece of diazo as you normally do.
Then using a cotton swab and ammonium hydroxide, develop only the
measurement points so that they are visible. Measure your dimensions
before putting the film through the diazo processor, using these points.
Then process the film and measure it again. From this you can determine
whether the problem is in exposure or processing and track down the cause
from there.

If you need more help after that, send me another message.

Regards,

Bob Seyfert
