Aric:
We had the same problem a few years ago. Guess what? We still have
the problem. We have helped ourselves somewhat by bending the leads
outward away from each other using a swaging tool. Be careful not to
clinch too tight since the leads may break. This has had the biggest
affect. Tear drop pads can also help somewhat. You may have the same
problem with RF connectors. Swage outward. Again, not too much
because you may start breaking the leads. The swage also helps hold
the RF connectors up-right and holds the transistors in the PTHs.
P.S., How have you been doing? DS, KR, and the UT crew doing ok.
