We are currently soliciting DESC to allow the cathode to be twice the
size (as it is only a butt weld to the case) to accomplish this. It
     may take months for approval.

This is an issue that PLAGUES the industry. We have in use the
        following:

        Automatic placement equipment
        Polarity overlays
        ICT
        Visual inspection
Critical Item Inspection lists (pointing out cautions to the
        inspectors)

And STILL we have reversed components due to:

Hand placement of components (even with auto equipment, there
appears to be an incredible amount of hand intervention due to
        machine mischucks, reel changes, etc)

Small lots - this causes purchase of some component in other
than a reel which bypasses AUTO equipment.

Tape and reel errors from suppliers/in house T&R

        Operator error

If ANYONE can improve on these processes, let me know. I would
be a miracle worker in my company!

     Hello,

I am interested in a solution to installing tantalums in reversed.
Plus symbols, silk-screen marking, etc. have proven inadequate.
Failures come after many hours of reverse polarity in some
     applications.

Are there any ideas on how to physically or otherwise prevent this.

     Thank you, Rich.
