From my copy of Marks' Handbook for ME's, the clearance for a sliding
fit of a hole of nominal size 0 to 0.12 inches must be from 0.0001 to
0.00055 inches. The clearance for a precision fit for the same hole
size is 0.0003 to 0.00095 inches.
This means that you can't make a sliding or precision fit with a
shaft od diameter 0.073 with a tolerance of +/-.002", as this
tolerance is way too large.
