Hi John,
I have had the experience of qualifying a Camelot machine for my previous
employer. The fiducial issue you have mentioned is geniune, and was
experienced by me and my technicians. The machine would freeze up during
intial fiducial setup proceedure. I contacted Camelot about this issue and
was told that that was a known issue to them. It was some speed
compatibility issue between the vision system and the on board computer.
They switched our on board computer to a higher speed pentium processor.
They were also working towards a final resolution of the problem with the
oem of the vision system.
On your second issue, do you perform needle offset calibration and camera
calibration routines. I found out that they needed to be done quite
frequently, and especially if you were changing nozzle sizes a lot.
Could you be more specific on the issue, as to when and how often does this
happen. Also does it happen at random points or all through the program?
Also, what software version do you have?

Nasir
