Dear Charles,

You might also request the total heated length of the reflow oven as well as
number of zones. Different ovens have various zone lengths.

We are an oven manufacturer and from my experience there is no difference in
conveyor speed from air to N2 mode.

An example would be our convection oven with 120" (305cm) heated length
split into 6 - 20" vertical zones. This ovens conveyor speed is
approximately 30"/min (76cm/min). I list conveyor speed as approximate
because the solder paste being used changes the requirements of the profile.

I am guessing that your oven is requiring a little slower conveyor speed in
N2 mode. If this is so you should check how the N2 is being introduced in
the process cavity and make adjustments to the flow valves (check the
manufacturers reccomendations). Most ovens are designed to perform the same
whether running in air mode or N2 mode.

Sincerely,

Brian Stumm
