Mike Bailey is right on the money.
Most Permanganate baths will tarnish hell out of the Copper, but not dissolve
any significant amount of Copper, as they are typically little more than
Caustic and Permanganate. However, the neutralizer bath, depending on various
factors, like type of chemistry, and age, etc. can do a nice number on the
Copper.
