In a message dated 98-07-01 22:39:57 EDT, you write:
<< I'm looking for dump criteria on solder strip in a Tab line. I
currently dump on board count but would like to know if 1.) There is a
copper concentration I could dump to or 2.) it is overkill? >>
Michael:
Three things happen as this type of stripper gets used, and monitoring two of
them is easy, the third takes some doing.
The products are typically Ammonium Bifluoride/Hydrogen Peroxide blends, and
as they are used, they pickup dissolved Tin (Any lead stripped is precipitated
as Lead Fluoride), the Hydrogen Peroxide is consumed, and the pH rises.
Checking Tin Content, should in theory be easy, except that all that HF may
attack your AA. Checking pH is very difficult because most electrodes are
glass, and do not do well in the presence of lots of acidic Fluoride. So, the
only thing that remains is the Hydrogen Peroxide content.
We have a titration, if you need one.
Let me know if we can assist you.
