Mark,

Good question to ask BEFORE you see the coating coming loose.  When we
switched to the no-clean flux, we found that the residue had a significant
effect on the adhesion of our Humiseal 1B31.  We had planned to give all
assemblies a final saponified water clean anyway, and this was enough to
remove the residue so that no coating problems were encountered.  I do
understand that other non-acrylic coatings are not as sensitive.
