We have used the Gerber Insight AOI with the infer- red light source
for inspection of DST layers with some success. There were still some
false defects reparted, but at a livable rate. We tried this
inspection with the old visible light inspect head with lousy
results- 100+ false defects per layer.
The best advice I can give is to make sure the layers are rinsed well
and dried quickly to minimize variation in surface oxidation and staining.
