Dave,

That's a very good subject. Leading to many, many THEORIES, little
absolute data, and the typical overkill practices.

I don't deal exclusively in EMI/EMC control on my board designs, but I do
design high-speed boards, and so have attended a few seminars. It's a
very confusing subject, but there are some good "presentations" avail-
able.

I personally live with my split planes. The time I take it into consideration is
with impedance control. But for EMI/EMC concerns, it hasn't reared it's
ugly head for me.

Good luck.

I'm looking for information regarding SPLIT GROUND PLANES.

Experts on grounding, EMI, EMC are teaching that gaps in ground planes
create serious problems. Component manufacturers, however, continue
to
recommend placing gaps under components (such as A/D's and D/A's).

Can anyone:

- point me in the direction of theoretical reference material
- relate their experiences / practices

Thanks,
