Graphic Workshop by Alchemy Mindworks Inc. works great.  There are
shareware versions out there, and their phone number is 1-800-263-1138, or
1-905-936-9500.  It will convert .TIF to .BMP with the greatest of ease.
It has a lot of other formats as well, and the ability to crop.  You'll
love it.
