IPC has a task group that is working on developing guidelines for
using and testing bar code labels. This task group functions
under the Assembly and Joining Committee of IPC. The document
the task group is developing is IPC-7911, which is titled
"Guidelines for Using Self-Adhesive Bar Code Labels for
In-process Tracking of Electronic Assemblies". The current draft
of this document focuses mainly on the testing of label materials
to assess whether they will survive circuit board assembly
processes and remain legible. Copies of the draft are available
from IPC. The task group met at IPC Expo back in April, and the
draft may be undergoing some significant changes based on that
meeting. The task group is also looking for new members.

changes or task group membership.

Subject: [TN] : Ink permanency Test and Adhesive Strength
Hi Technetters,
Could anyone advise me :-
1. Is there any spec. for ink permanency test on the bar-code label.
2. Is there any spec. to determine the adhesiveness or strength for
the label which used for bar-code labelling.
Rgds,
Poh
